Project Coordinator Internship

The Project Coordinator Intern provides on-site support to Project Coordinators and the Project Management Team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning and coordinating of on-site scheduling, engineering, material control, procurement, safety and provide day-to-day support of project foreman and superintendents as needed
  • Maintain records including jobsite schedules, document control log, change order log, time keeping and field project files
  • Assist in project safety and help coordinate AZCO’s Zero Injury Program
  • Initiate the purchase order process, rentals and equipment procurement
  • Attend project meetings as directed, assures that minutes and notes are maintained, distributed and retained for all meetings on site with owner, other contractors, subcontractors, OEM’s and other suppliers.

Qualifications

Currently a junior or senior attending a four year college or university studying construction management, engineering or related degree. Construction background is helpful. Knowledge of Primavera Scheduling software desired; MS Excel and MS Word required. Must be able to travel to sites (nationally) not yet determined.

Safety Coordinator Internship

The Safety Coordinator Intern is responsible for the research and maintenance of safety paperwork for AZCO’s fabrication division or on construction sites.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the inventory of hazardous materials
  • Update the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets)
  • Observe and shadow the Safety Coordinator
  • In coordination with the Safety Coordinator at the site level:
    • Conduct daily walk-throughs
    • Obtain permits and monitor hot work, confined space entry, lockout/tag out and excavation
    • Investigate incidents, prepare appropriate report and assist management with implementation of Return to Work policy
    • Identify potential causes for incidents, recommend changes in policies and procedures to prevent accidents and illness

Qualifications

Working towards a bachelor’s degree in safety, construction management or similar field. OSHA 30-hour certification is desired. Must be able to travel to sites (nationally) not yet determined. Strong organizational skills with extreme attention to detail, exceptional communication skills – written and verbal.
