Appleton, Wis. (October 2018) – AZCO, one of the nation’s most trusted names in industrial construction and fabrication, announced that Robert Brockington has been promoted within the company to Chief Operating Officer.
During the past 18 years Brockington has held key roles with AZCO such as Project Coordinator, Project Manager, Estimator, and in the last few years, Vice President of Estimating and Business Development. With his team, Brockington has responded to nationwide client requests for proposals growing revenues to close to $275 million the last few years.
Prior to joining AZCO, Brockington worked in engineering positions for Black & Veatch and Bluhm Company after graduating from Michigan Technological University with a Civil Engineering degree.
Brockington will bring a combination of extensive sales and estimating experience, operations improvement, and nationwide go-to-market strategy expertise to his work in ensuring AZCO’s Customers’ success in their initiatives.
“AZCO has been family for me for over 18 years, and I look forward to continuously striving to preserve this culture for our existing and new employees.” said Robert Brockington. “AZCO’s employee-owner work ethic allows us to be poised for even greater success. I’m eager to pull our most creative minds together, regardless of work experience or time with the company, to continue our open culture and create a path for the best ideas and project solutions to move forward.”
Reporting to John Trottier, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Brockington has overall strategic and operational responsibility for AZCO’s day-to-day working programs and services, as well as managing key staff leaders. This means directing field project operations, the fabrication division, project support, estimating, and business development. Brockington will aim to maximize AZCO’s growth potential and to make AZCO an even larger presence, nationally, in the industrial construction and fabrication industries.
As COO, Brockington plans to foster a deep sense of purpose, ambitious performance goals, respect and mutual accountability, as well as providing leadership for AZCO’s strategic planning process, and implementing strategic initiatives.
In addition, Brockington will continue to serve on the AZCO Board of Directors, the Executive Team, and be a liaison to AZCO’s parent company Burns & McDonnell, Inc. keeping them abreast, with key staff leaders, of business development strategies and project operation challenges.
Away from AZCO, Brockington serves on the Board of Directors for the Northeast Wisconsin Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and spends time with his family boating, watching his kids play sports (especially soccer), and has most recently checked off an item on his bucket list by traveling with his family across Iceland.
